Despite the fact that the form of Stop Motion per se suspends any presumptions the audience might have regarding any short film, the use of HDR technique in creation of frames takes this challenge even one step further.
As the visual effect of the outcome of this technique approaches that of illustration, the realistic characteristics of photographs fade, therefore the audience’s mind is prepared to accept unreal phenomena. The contrast between intermittent images and continuous music creates a novel experience for the viewer.
To create every single frame in this Stop Motion –as the performer depicts two characters in every frame- , at least two HDR photographs (equivalent to 18 standard photographs) needed to be merged. In cases where objects or the performer would gradually fade or appear to form one single frame, a maximum of 8 HDR photographs had to be used- which is equivalent to 72 shots.
