Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival - About the Festival

4th Annual Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival

Founded in 2009, the Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival has quickly become a leading festival dedicated to celebrating Iranian heritage through short film, video and animation.

Whether you are Iranian or non-Iranian, a veteran or aspiring filmmaker, the Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival is open to individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life. Now in its fourth year, the festival has one hope in mind: to provide a forum for individuals to use their creativity and talent to spark and inspire interest in Iranian culture.

We welcome participants to submit works that visualize some aspect of Iranian arts, crafts, cuisine, culture, geography, and history. All entries will be judged for creativity, quality, and originality and will compete for a chance to win monetary prizes of $10,000, $5,000 or $3,000 and receive worldwide recognition through Farhang Foundation's promotional campaigns.

The submissions period for this year’s festival opens on November 1, 2011 and closes on February 1, 2012. Our panel of judgest will select 6 shorts films and the list will be announced by March 1, 2012. The top 3 winners will be announced on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the special awards ceremony which will take place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), as part of Farhang Foundation’s annual Iranian New Year celebration.
